The best way to save money on groceries these days is to use coupons. Now I know you may
not be very keen on clipping coupons, but don't worry there are better ways to do that.
Here's how!
Grocery coupons only work if you use them on things that you would normally buy.
Necessities such as bread, milk, butter, paper towel, toothpaste, etc, are things you would
use coupons on. But if you saw a coupon for let's say candles, which you don't need,
do not clip that coupon. You'll just end up wasting more money in the end.
There are grocery stores out there that will also let you "double up" your coupons. That
means that they'll let you use two of your coupons on one item. So if you have a 50 cent
off coupon for orange juice, you might be able to use 2 coupons (to save $1.00).
Five Tips for Saving Money on Groceries
1. Never shop hungry. We all know what happens; you just grab at everything you see.
2. Don't be picky - try a store brand. Most likely, they'll be just as good as the other
brands if not better and much cheaper.
3. Stock up when there's a sale. If your family loves peas, then buy 10-20 cans when
they're on a good sale. Cans are non-perishable items so they'll last a while.
4. Buy fruits or vegetables when they are priced at 'per-piece' instead of 'per-pound'.
You'll obviously get way more for your money.
5. Try saving some money by buying the things you like only when they're on sale. You
don't NEED that bag of chips that bad - wait until next week when they're 2 for 1!
